Suspected COVID-19 patient jumps out from 3rd floor of AIIMS, breaks leg

A 37-year-old man, suspected to be a patient of novel coronavirus infection, allegedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the third floor of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital in Delhi, where he was admitted on March 31.

New Delhi: A man suspected to have contracted the coronavirus infection allegedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the third floor of a hospital in central Delhi, police said on Sunday.

The 37-year-old man was admitted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital on March 31, they said.

However, the man escaped with a fractured leg and is now in a stable condition. The suspected COVID-19 patient had jumped off from the third floor of the trauma centre in the Sunday morning.

According to doctors, his condition is stable and the result for his coronavirus test is still awaited.
