"LG controls questions raised in assembly, it is like British Rule" - Speaker Ram Niwas Goel

New Delhi: Ahead of Delhi Assembly polls, Speaker Ram Niwas Goel shared his experience of working in the assembly for the past 5 years of Aam Aadmi Party.

In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Goel described the past 5 years a 'British Rule'.

"Delhi Assembly is not independent. Long back I received a letter from Lieutenant Governor. In it, I was asked not to pay heed to three specific topics in the assembly," Goel said.

The three topics were DDA, Delhi Police and Law system.

Legislative Assembly elections will be held in Delhi on February 2020 to elect 70 members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.

The term of the current assembly elected in 2015 will expire on 22 February 2020.
