Jaipur/New Delhi : The Rajasthan Police and the Delhi Police Crime Branch succeeded in arresting both the shooters in the Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi murder case. In a joint operation in Chandigarh, the special team of SIT and Delhi Police has arrested both shooters Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathod. Both the accused will be brought from Chandigarh to Jaipur for interrogation. The action has been carried out on the instructions of ADG Crime Dinesh MN, Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph.
According to ADG Crime Dinesh MN, the SIT investigating the case has got a big success. A joint operation was conducted to round up Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathod, the shooters who killed Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. Earlier, multiple police teams were searching for the accused in Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and other places.
Raids were being conducted at possible targets. Rajasthan Police was coordinating with the police of other states as well. At the same time, teams of NIA, Military Intelligence and Delhi Crime Branch were also roped in. A reward of Rs 5 lakh each was placed on both the accused.
Earlier on Saturday, the police had arrested the accused Ramveer Jat, a resident of Mahendragarh, Haryana, for allegedly cooperating with both the shooters. Accused Ramveer is a close friend of shooter Nitin Fauji. Ramveer had cooperated with both the shooters in Jaipur. After the murder, both the accused were taken away on a motorcycle.
According to Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph, on December 5, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was murdered by two shooters Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathod in an indiscriminate firing incident in Shyam Nagar area. The arrested accused Ramveer made arrangements for shooter Nitin Fauji in Jaipur. The villages of Ramveer Singh Jat and Nitin Fauji are nearby.
Ramveer had arranged for Nitin Fauji to stay in a hotel and his acquaintance's flat in Jaipur. After the incident, Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathod were taken on a motorcycle from Ajmer Road from where they escaped in a Rajasthan Roadways bus ahead of Bagru toll plaza.
On December 5, in the Shyam Nagar police station area of Jaipur, two people including the national president of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi were shot dead. The miscreants entered the house in broad daylight and fired indiscriminately. Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was shot four times. Gogamedi was taken to a private hospital in Mansarovar, where the doctor declared him dead.
Another youth Naveen Singh also died due to bullet injury. Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi's private security guard Ajit Singh was seriously injured. After the incident, the miscreants fired at a scooterist, snatched the vehicle and sped away from spot.
