New Delhi: Amidst the fear of coronavirus and the nationwide lockdown to contain its spread, Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques here was illuminated on Friday, a day ahead of the commencement of the holy month of Ramzan.
Jama Masjid was decorated beautifully and illuminated with golden and white lights, giving a majestic look to the religious site.
Many leaders including PM Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi have also congratulated the countrymen on the commencement of Ramadan.
"Ramzan Mubarak! I pray for everyone’s safety, well-being and prosperity. May this Holy Month bring with it abundance of kindness, harmony and compassion. May we achieve a decisive victory in the ongoing battle against COVID-19 and create a healthier planet,"the PM tweeted.
