New Delhi: As the nationwide lockdown to contain coronavirus spread continues, a large number of migrant workers are seen sleeping on the footpaths near the Green Park area in Delhi.

At a time when it has become mandatory to avoid crowds and maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, hundreds of migrant workers are seen living together on the footpaths in the area.
While talking to ETV Bharat, a migrant worker said they have been living on the footpaths here for the last two months.
"Since the last two months, we are here. Whenever we approached the district administration for food and shelter, they said that there was no place left to shelter us. We had no choice but to sleep on the footpaths here," she said.
More than two months have passed since the assembly elections when the Kejriwal-led government made hand-full of commitments to provide food and shelter to the poorer sections of the society. However, the promises have remained on paper.
