New Delhi: The number of criminal cases in Delhi continues to rise and another heinous incident of gangrape was reported on December 10 in Shakur Basti railway station, New Delhi. The victim, who suffered injuries, is admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital at Mangolpuri. The incident happened at around 3 am on that day.
Police have registered a case and begun investigation based on the victim's statement and CCTV footage. Police said that an incident of burglary was reported on the same day from catering stall in the railway station and it is suspected that the same accused would have committed the gangrape.
The victim told the police that a group of three men gang-raped her. She also stated that the accused fled after beating her and they also had threatened to kill her.
Sources also said that it surprising that such an incident happened in the railway station where Railway Protection Force patrols 24 hours a day. Government Railway Police outpost is also besides.
The victim's family members lodged the complaint immediately after the incident.
