New Delhi: Ahead of 2019 polls, former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and Nabarangpur MP, Balabhadra Majhi joined Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Saturday.
He resigned from BJD on March 14 and joined BJP in front of Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram, BJP's national Vice president Baijayant Panda and BJP's Odisha in-charge Arun Singh in New Delhi.
While addressing the media, Majhi said, "Even after doing so much of hard work, I was being ignored by the party during meetings and discussions, due to which I resigned from the party."
During 2014 elections, Majhi defeated Congress' candidate, Pradeep Majhi in Nabarangpur, due to which he is still being considered as a strong contender against BJD and Congress for 2019 polls in Nabarangpur.
