Vinesh Phogat said on Twitter that the issue of the WFI chief will be fought in court as the government made some promises to the wrestlers in the talks on June 7. The government said the charge sheet has been presented in court on June 15 after a thorough investigation of the FIR lodged by 6 women wrestlers in connection with complaints made by women wrestling players, Vinesh pointed out.

Apart from this, Vinesh Phogat said that in relation to the reform of the wrestling association, the process of election of the new office bearers has started as promised. The wrestlers said that they will have to wait till the WFI elections to see whether the government will implement its promises or not. The WFI elections are scheduled for July 11 to elect its new executive committee. These elections assumed significance because of the controversy surrounding the sexual allegations levelled against WFI's current chief. All wrestling federations in the country will nominate two persons each to form the electoral college for WFI polls, as per the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

Submission of nominations will be from June 29 to July 1. Scrutiny will be on July 4. Withdrawal of candidates will be between July 4 and July 7. The final list will be displayed on July 8. The polling will be done on July 11, and results will be declared on the same day.
