New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Education has re-issued the advertisement for the post of Jawaharlal Nehru University vice-chancellor on Saturday after about one year after publishing the initial advertisement.
According to the new notification, candidates can apply for the post by October 11 up till 5.30 pm. Any candidate who had earlier applied need not apply again, however, if any candidate wants to withdraw the name, can do it, the notification reads.
According to the notification, the applicant should be a “distinguished academician, with a minimum of 10 years of experience as Professor in a University or 10 years of experience in a reputed research and/or academic administrative organization with proof of having demonstrated academic leadership."
Apart from this, the age of the candidate should not be more than 65 years as of 23 November 2020.
Applicants can visit www.jnu.ac.in or www.education.gov.in for application or advertisement to get more details. No changes have been made in the previous advertisement.
Meanwhile, M Jagadesh Kumar, whose tenure as the JNU VC ended on January 26, will further continue in his position.
However, the JNU Teachers' Association has also raised questions on the education ministry's re-application for the post and said that it appears that the ministry wants Professor Kumar to hold the post indefinitely.
