New Delhi : Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi has expressed apprehensions that the BJP is bent on finishing off AAP and that the Enforcement Directorate will arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on November 2 after questioning him in the money laundering case. The Minister accused the ruling BJP at the Centre of using these illegal tactics to undermine the AAP politically.
Addressing a press conference today, Atishi asserted that the BJP was resorting to ulterior methods after it had lost all hope of defeating Kejriwal and AAP in elections as was evident thrice in Assembly and municipal corporation polls. The BJP was trying to finish off the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by putting its top leaders behind bars, she said. Kejriwal was being targetted by the BJP because he was waging a relentless struggle against it, she said.
Minister Atishi recalled how AAP's main leaders like Manish Sisodia have been arrested along political lines. The BJP will target other leaders of the INDIA bloc alliance, of which Kejriwal has become a vocal leader.
The Delhi Minister's allegations came after the ED summoned CM Kejriwal for the first time in the money laundering case which is linked to the Delhi excise policy scam. The summons were issued to Kejriwal under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The Delhi CM was earlier questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
