Delhi Police trying to persuade protesters at Shaheen Bagh to unblock Delhi-Noida Road

Delhi Police has said that all possible efforts were made to get Delhi-Noida road cleared by persuading the anti-CAA protesters to shift somewhere else. It said they have a right to protest but it should not cause trouble to others.

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday said efforts were on to persuade anti-CAA protesters at Shaheen Bagh here to clear the road that link the national capital with Noida.

"We have been talking to the protesters urging them to clear the road," DCP (south-east) R P Meena told media persons here.
He said the Supreme Court order was also shown to the protesters.
The police official said that they have right to protest but they should not block the road as it creates problems for thousands others who use it to commute between the two cities.

He also expressed hope that the protesters would understand the point and the road would be cleared soon.
Last week, the apex court appointed interlocutors to convince people, who have been agitating against the recently amended citizenship law.
