New Delhi: The investigation officer of the Nirbhaya case and the then SHO Anil Sharma on Tuesday slammed the makers of the web series 'Delhi Crime' and is planning to take legal action against them.
The show, which features on Netflix, is about the 15 December, 2012 Delhi gang-rape.
He said his portrayal as dumb, slow, one who shrugs off responsibility on jurisdiction issue, is not trusted and often been scolded by then DCP, Chhaya Sharma, in the series, is totally wrong.
Sharma, now a Station House Officer of Lodhi Colony Police Station, told media that his depiction was fabricated by director Richie Mehta and his team Mehta for "commercial profit".
At the time of the incident, Anil was the SHO of Vasant Vihar police station.
He said that he has got appreciation from his senior officials as well as from the court to investigate in this matter.
Anil said that he is not the only one who is hurt by his image in the show.
"Nirbhaya's kin, former police commissioner Neeraj Kumar and Nirbhaya's friend are also disappointed with the show. Their emotions have been made commercial," he said.
Anil said during the investigation, he fought very hard.
"My elder brother died while I was investigating the case. But still I did not let affect the investigation," he said.
He also said that the disclaimer was not sent to Delhi Police by the producer before telecasting it. "I am preparing a CD marking derogatory contents with its timing from the initial episode to the last. I am in touch with my advocate and am planning to take legal action including a defamation suit."
