New Delhi: A youth was allegedly stabbed to death by a group of people at a birthday party in Delhi's Mangolpuri area on Wednesday night. The victim, Rinku Sharma, succumbed to injuries during treatment at the hospital. Four people have been arrested on Friday and a case under relevant sections has been registered.
According to the police, the arrested assailants have been identified as Mohammad Islam, Danish Nasruddin, Dilshan and Dilshad Islam.
While police claim past rivalry behind the murder, family and several BJP leaders allege communal angle.

"So far, during the investigation, it has surfaced that the quarrel started during a birthday party over shutting down of a restaurant," police said.
"On Wednesday night, Rinku Sharma got into a heated argument with four men during a birthday party over shutting down of a food joint in the wake of some losses. They were also seen slapping and threatening each other," said Delhi Police spokesperson, Chinmay Biswal.
"The two sides had similar issues sometime back as well. Later, the four accused went to Sharma’s house, stabbed him with a knife, and fled, said police. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries," he said.
"All persons are known to each other and live in the same locality. Any other motive alluded to this incident is factually wrong. Further investigation is underway. ," he added.
"A shocking incident has taken place in Delhi that a person named Rinku Sharma was killed by four miscreants. This incident is a gruesome one and indicating towards something unfortunate. The culprits should be arrested and strictly punished. The investigation should be fair," said BJP leader Manoj Tiwari.
Meanwhile, speaking to media persons, Delhi BJP leader, Bajrang Shukla claimed Rinku was killed as he was collecting donations for Ram Mandir. The administration should ensure strict punishment to the culprits.
The deceased youth was survived by his mother Radha Devi, father Ajay Sharma and brothers Ankit and Manu Sharma.
