New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal has tested positive for COVID-19.
Following the development, the Delhi CM has gone into isolation as a precautionary measure.
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal had appealed to the people of the city to stay at home amidst the six-day lockdown that is being enforced in Delhi starting Tuesday.

Kejriwal said that the lockdown was essential as the city has been witnessing a massive surge in the COVID-19 cases and the health system might crumble in the coming days.
Delhi on Monday registered 23,686 new COVID-19 cases, taking the active caseload to 76,887. While the cases saw a dip, the national capital registered its highest single-day tally of COVID deaths with 240 fatalities in the last 24 hours.

With 23,686 cases reported in the last 24 hours, the total case tally in Delhi jumped to 8,77,146 whereas the positivity rate has also jumped 26.12 per cent.
Meanwhile, India registered 2,59,170 new COVID-19 cases and 1,761 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry.
