Delhi online health consultation company fires 170 employees

Delhi based online health consultation company-1 mg has fired 170 employees on Tuesday without giving prior notice to them. This comes after the centre has advised the companies not to fire or cut salaries of the employees.

New Delhi: A Delhi based online health consultation company on Tuesday has fired it's 170 employees at one go amid coronavirus lockdown.

After the government has allowed the companies to operate during the lockdown, 220 employees reached office on Tuesday. After reaching the office, the company has handed over the firing letter to 170 employees without giving any prior notice.

According to the reports, '1mg'- operates a consumer health platform. The platform allows users to order medicines and health products online, consult qualified and registered doctors on chat, book lab tests online.

On May 10, an employee of the company tested positive of coronavirus. Subsequently, the company directed its employee to go on leave. When they returned back, they asked to leave the office as soon as possible.
