New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Sheila Dikshit backed Congress opinion of Rahul Gandhi to remain as party president. While speaking to media, on the issue of Rahul Gandi's resignation, Former chief minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit said, "We are going to be near the residence of Rahul Gandhi, will demonstrate there to convey our feelings that he should not resign.
The party will suffer a very heavy loss which we don't want. We are going there to plead with him to not do this." Meanwhile, Congress workers held a protest outside headquarters in Bengaluru demanding Rahul Gandhi to take back his resignation from president post.
Meanwhile, Dixit is not only a leader who is against the resignation of party president Rahul Gandhi but several other leaders like former Congress MP Hanumantha Rao urged AICC president to continue to lead the party. Rao, known to be a loyalist of Nehru-Gandhi family, said if the president resigns, it will hurt the sentiments of the party workers badly.
