New Delhi: A senior Congress leader from Assam on Monday accused the party leadership of involving in "horse trading" in ticket distribution process.

"My name was there at number one in the CEC list. Razzaque, a hardcore Congress leader was planning to contest from Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency in the coming election in the Congress ticket.

He has accused a central Congress leadership, actively involved in the selection of Lok Sabha candidates for Assam in the whole episode. Razzaque also said that three Congress leaders from Assam are also involved in the entire "horse trading" episode. One of then is contesting from a Lower Assam constituency in the coming election.

Earlier, it was presumed that Congress might put weak candidates for Dhubri, Barpeta and Kokarjhar Lok Sabha seats, following a backdoor understanding poll understanding with the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF). Though the Congress, later, ruled out any such possibility of poll-alliance.
