New Delhi: Congress held 'Bharat Bachao' rally at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital today.

Party workers from across the country participated in this rally, which was organised to highlight several issues including "sluggish economy, rising unemployment, and farmers' problems."

Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and other senior leaders addressed the rally.

The party's emphasis was on mobilising a large number of people to join the rally, as well as to send a strong message against the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre. The entire focus of the rally was to attack the BJP-led government on its economic policies.

The rally holds significance for national and Congress' internal politics since it was the party's first grand rally against the government policies after Sonia Gandhi took over as interim president.

The rally of the Congress party was earlier scheduled to be held on November 30 but was later postponed to December 14 in view of the Winter Session of the Parliament, which concluded on Friday.
