Complaint filed against Delhi health minister, gurudwara heads

A complaint has been lodged at Delhi's North Avenue Police Station against Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee president Manjinder Singh Sirsa and general secretary Harmeet Singh Kalka for putting the lives of hundred Covid patients at risk in a Covid Care centre in Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib, Delhi.

New Delhi: A complaint has been lodged at Delhi's North Avenue Police Station against Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee president Manjinder Singh Sirsa and general secretary Harmeet Singh Kalka for putting the lives of hundred Covid patients at risk in a Covid Care centre in Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib, Delhi. The Jago Party, which has filed the complaint has alleged that the doctors treating the patients at the centre did not possess the prescribed qualifications and the evidence in support of their claim is also submitted.

In the written complaint, it has been alleged that it was gurudwara members claimed that the doctors of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash would treat patients in this facility, but later it was revealed that the doctors were associated with the International Human Rights Organization. It was further said that neither the president of this organization nor any doctor was a member of the Indian Medical Association (IMA). No doctor can practice in India without being a member of the Indian Medical Association, it said. Apart from this, a case against a member who was treating patients was pending. The case against him was on charges of MBBS paper leak.

In May this year, the Guru Tegh Bahadur COVID Care Centre at the Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in central Delhi started operations with 300 beds. The COVID care centre is being managed by 50 doctors from the Delhi government-run Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital and is supported by a team of 150 nurses and ward boys. Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan had also donated Rs 2 crore for the centre.
