New Delhi: BJP Rajya Sabha Member, Mahesh Poddar, said that the Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hemant Soren wants to lead an all-party delegation from the state to raise the demand for a caste census with PM.
Mahesh Poddar said that such demand is unnecessary now. The central government is aware of this issue. Some delegations have met him in the past. But whatever decision PM Modi will take in this context will be in the interest of the country. My personal opinion is that the country is facing a challenge from the Taliban and Pakistan.

The demand for caste census is growing by the day across the country. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has met the PM along with an all-party delegation from Bihar. Now, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren also wants to do the same. On the other hand, BJP is not in favour of caste census. BJP says that this will cause tension in society. They claim that central government is taking special care of the people of every section.
