New Delhi: BJP's National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey condoled the death of former defence minister and Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar who died on Sunday.
"We have lost a man of simplicity and integrity. Manohar Parrikar has done appreciable work for Goa," BJP leader said.
Goa CM Manohar Parrikar passed away after battling with advanced pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed with the life-claiming-disease in February last year. He was heading a coalition government comprising the BJP, the Goa Forward Party, the MGP and Independents.
After the demise of Parrikar, the BJP-led coalition in Goa began discussions to find a new leader to replace him.
The Union Home ministry has announced national mourning on Monday, it will be 7-day mourning in the Goa.
