Another lockdown neither a possibility nor a solution: Jain

With coronavirus cases rising again in the national capital, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Kumar Jain has said refuted any possibility of the city seeing another lockdown. He said required lessons have been learnt during the lockdown imposed in the past and the people just have to abide by the guidelines to keep themselves safe.

New Delhi: Emphasizing that wearing a mask and maintaining social distance are some of the ways which would keep people safe from the coronavirus infection, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Kumar Jain has said that "yet another lockdown is neither a possibility nor a solution" to deal with the emerging situation concerning the contagious disease in the national capital.

"We have earned the required experience from the lockdown that we had. Now, measures like wearing a mask and maintaining social distance would keep people safe from the contagious disease," he told the media here.

He said the Delhi government is appealing to people of Delhi to follow these measures to stay safe.

"Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is appealing to people through recorded messages to wear masks and maintain social distance. Similarly, advertisements are being given on different platforms, including radio and newspapers, to follow the guidelines

In the past few days, the national capital has seen a gradual hike in the number of coronavirus cases with over four thousand cases being reported in the past 24 hours.

Number of hotspots and containment zones have also gone up in the city state.
