New Delhi: As many as 82 flights which were supposed to arrive or depart from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi on Monday were cancelled, leaving the passengers angry and confused.

Domestic flight operations resumed from today after a two months gap owing to the COVID-19-induced nationwide lockdown.

Several passengers at the Terminal 3 of Delhi airport claimed that they were not informed about their flight cancellation. Meanwhile, the officials said that the flights were cancelled after some states informed the Centre that they will not be able to operate flights from their respective airports.

Booking of air tickets was allowed for around 1500 flights. However, with various states announcing their own parameters for the arrivals, several flights were cancelled.

Angry with the flights being cancelled at the last minute, one of the angry passengers said, "Airlines should not cancel flights at this time. It is really important for us to get to our destinations".
