BJP says 38 parties have confirmed participation in Tuesday's NDA meeting

Ahead of the 2024 Lok sabha elections, BJP president JP Nadda confirmed leaders of 38 parties will participate NDA meeting, scheduled to be held on Tuesday in the National Capital.

New Delhi: Leaders of 38 parties have confirmed their participation in a meeting of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to be held in the national capital on Tuesday, BJP president J P Nadda said.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Nadda said NDA's reach and scope have increased over the years. He said the NDA constituents are upbeat due to the positive impact of the Narendra Modi government's schemes and policies.

The meeting of the BJP-led coalition is scheduled to be held on a day several opposition parties are set to hold deliberations in Bengaluru to chalk out a joint strategy to take on the BJP unitedly in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The NDA meeting here will see the presence of a host of existing and new BJP allies as the ruling party has worked overtime in recent weeks and months to seal fresh alliances and win back those who had quit the ruling combine.

Recalling the functioning of the BJP since its inception, Nadda said, "The BJP, right from when it came into existence till today, is the only political party which is ideologically pursuing the issues for which it came into existence. Be it (abrogation of ) Article 370, Ram Mandir or other issues.""Today, the people are with the NDA. This alliance is not for power, but for service (of people), and strengthening the country," the BJP chief said.

He also exuded confidence that the NDA will retain power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of the PM Modi."The country has decided that under the leadership of Modi ji, the NDA government will be formed again in 2024," he said.

The BJP chief also took a swipe at the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA), saying: "This is an alliance which neither has a leader, nor policy, nor has the power to take decisions. It is a 'bunch' of corruption and scams of the 10 years of UPA government."It is based on "self-interests", he added.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan has decided to join the NDA alliance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, BJP chief JP Nadda announced. Nadda, who met Chirag Paswan in Delhi, welcomed him into the "NDA family". The development comes a day ahead of the ruling National Democratic Alliance meeting.Paswan also met Home Minister Amit Shah and described his discussion on the issues related to the alliance with BJP as "positive".
