Surajpur: The Pradhan Manatri Awas Yojana (PMAY) beneficiaries alleged that they have not received second installment of money to complete the remaining construction of houses here in Chhattisgarh.
Reportedly, the beneficiaries demolished their 'Kachha' houses for the construction after they received the first installment of money.
As monsoon has arrived the villagers are forced to live in under-construction or dilapidated houses.
The foundation base of the houses were laid after the villagers received Rs 25,000 in the first installment.
They shifted to other places and demolished the Kachha house for the construction purpose.
PMAY beneficiary from Jhilmil said: "I received first installment Rs 25,000 in April 2018 and then received Rs 35,000 in second installment from which I bought materials from the market. But, the construction worked stopped as I didn't get the amount of last installment."
"I took some amount from the moneylenders to complete the work now the interest rate of the loan amount is also increasing," he added.
Earlier, two families have claimed they have not received the houses sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY) despite being mentioned in the beneficiary list in Pendra district of Chhattisgarh.
Usha Bai Kol and Gudda Rautel, have alleged that they neither received any money nor were their houses built despite the mention.
