Raipur (Chhattisgarh): Chhattisgarh police have arrested eleven drug peddlers and seized drugs worth Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 from them. Police is also looking out for two girls who are the part of the drug peddler team and would supply drugs to big parties.
Police have also seized 15 mobiles from the arrested and according to the police phone and chat details can be helpful in the case.
The confiscated goods have also been sent to the forensic labs for further investigation. All deleted data are being recovered.
The police are also focusing on chats as the accused used to chat among themselves. Every accused person’s chat of the last two months is being investigated and their full data of one and a half years is being recovered as well.
The youths of Chhattisgarh are slowly and steadily getting into the grip of expensive drugs. Earlier alcohol, cannabis and opium were available, but now even expensive and banned drugs are easily available. The State’s capital city of Raipur, Bilaspur and Bhilai have emerged as hotspots for the drug dealers. Hazardous drugs like LSD, MDMA, M-CAT and cocaine, which are available at very high rates, are increasingly taking the youths of Chhattisgarh into their grip.

While accepting the problem, the Home Minister has asked the police to seriously deal with the problem through proper planning.
Sources have revealed that the 11 accused arrested have confessed to supplying drugs to some hotels and farmhouses on the city’s VIP Road. These parties were organised by the drug dealers themselves. Packets of drugs were supplied by them after getting orders. During the police interrogation, the accused have disclosed that many young men and women are into supplying drugs in Telibandha and Marine Drive areas during late-night hours.
Action Taken so far:
October 10: Two accused were arrested.
October 9: Police arrested 7 accused including the chief smuggler who deals in drugs. About 100 grams of MDMA drugs were recovered from the possession of the accused, the cost of which is being pegged at Rs 15 lakh.
October 1: The police arrested two suspects for supplying cocaine.
