A class 10 girl from Chhattisgarh's Jashpur committed suicide after flying squad staff allegedly strip searched her on suspicion of carrying written chits.

Jashpur (Chhattisgarh): A class 10 girlreportedly committed suicide on Monday after allegedly being strip searched during her board exam by the inspecting officials in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur.

The 16-year-old girl was allegedly frisked on suspicion of carrying written chits to the examination hall.

According to an eye witness, the exam conducting board's flying search squad reached the school on March 1 to check whether the students were involved in cheating.

The students were then allegedly taken to separate rooms and asked to take their clothes off. Subsequently, a student was rusticated for carrying chits to the examination hall.

The victim's brother claimed, "When I asked how her exam went, she said that she could not attempt the paper properly due to a search operation that took place in the school."

"The officials, who came to check, took students to separate rooms and asked to take their clothes off to check whether we were carrying chits. With a smile, she said that she will die, and I did not take her seriously," he added.

According to the student who was rusticated, three to four girls and boys were taken to separate rooms. "Post search, they sent me back to class and later I was rusticated," he said.

The incident came to light when the girl allegedly committed suicide on March 4, three days after the frisking.

As the incident sparked panic among other student, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of the district, Ravi Mittal, while condemning the incident, said, "An investigation will be carried out in the matter. The students need not worry."

The school authorities claimed that the frisking by the inspection squad was objected by the school's teachers as they found it a waste of time.

Jashpur (Chhattisgarh), Mar 07 (ANI): A class 10th student committed suicide after being allegedly strip searched during her board exam by the inspecting officials on Thursday in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur. On March 01, the inspecting officials of the district visited the exam center. They asked students to go to the other room for checking of copy chits. Inspecting officials asked students to remove their clothes for checking. "Students got really troubled in this checking process and their time was even wasted", said students. After the incident, the victim got really upset and she hanged herself as soon as she reached her house. The family of the victim has reported the case.
