Lucknow: A man was arrested for allegedly strangling his wife to death as he suspected her of infidelity in Nagpura village of Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
During the investigation, it was found that the woman was thrashed and strangled to death on Thursday night. The police recovered the body from the agricultural fields of Nagpura village.
The accused has been identified as Tukaram Sahu, husband of Santoshi Sahu who was alleged of having illicit affair.
The police complaint was filed by Santoshi Sahu's son and other relatives after they found the body in the agricultural field.
Reportedly, the family members started searching for the couple after they didn't return from Nagpura till late evening on 13th February.
The accused during interrogation revealed that he went for work with his wife where both of them got into a dispute while working on the field.
Meanwhile, the accused went to Dongargarh Devi's temple by train to apologize for the crime and he also sacrificed his hair for committing the crime.
However, he was arrested from his home after he returned from the temple.
The police has registered a case under section 302 (murder) against the accused.
