Durg (Chhattisgarh)): Members of the right-wing organisation Bajrang Dal staged a dharna in front of a missionary school in Chhattisgarh's Durg district on Sunday. The protesting workers of the organisation alleged that an event was held on the school campus for religious conversion.
The Bajrang Dal activists also alleged that they had received complaints in this regard. Upon verification, the allegation was found to be true, said the protesting activists. The Bajrang Dal activists squatted in front of the Vishwadeep Higher Secondary School, a missionary school, where a programme was in progress on Sunday. At least 190 children hailing from different parts of Chhattisgarh were attending the event. On receiving information, the activists of Bajrang Dal staged a sit-in and recited Hanuman Chalisa in front of the school.
The school management informed police personnel regarding the uproarious scene in front of the institution. The police arrived at the spot and dispersed the mob. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) member Rakesh Pandit said, "We received information last night that religious conversion was taking place inside the school. The school authorities had given a list of 190 children taking part in the event to the police. But, we were suspecting that at least 500 to 700 children were brought to the school for embracing Christianity."

The children denied they were being converted to Christianity." Durg ASP Sanjay Dhruv, said, "A committee led by the tahsildar has submitted a report to the District Collector. Arrangements were made to send children to homes after attending the function. The children had come to school to attend a workshop."
