Raipur: Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on Tuesday released the results of Star Rating of Garbage Free Cities 2020 wherein Ambikapur city in Chattisgarh received 5 star rating.
The city has the country's first digital garbage management system, it however launched a Garbage Cafe on October 9, 2019 where a full meal can be received in exchange for 1 kg of plastic waste.

In the list of garbage free cities, the cities of the state that have received 'three stars' include Barsur, Bhilai Nagar, Bilaspur, Jashpur Nagar, Narharpur, Patan, Raigarh, Rajnandgaon and Sargwan.
According to reports, 470 sanitation workers collect garbage from different households across the city everyday and nearly 51 tonnes of garbage is utilised. The city earns a revenue of 5 to 6 lakh from the waste management, a source said.
