Tribals in Chhattisgarh make Desi masks to beat Coronavirus

The tribals of Bharritola village in Ambeda area in Chhattisgarh have adopted a unique method to protect themselves from coronavirus by making masks from leaves of Sal tree including other measures. The villagers are not even coming out of the houses.

Kanker (Chhattisgarh): As the world is fighting the pandemic of coronavirus and is finding ways to keep the infection at bay, a village dominated by tribals in Chhattisgarh has set an example of awareness and has found its own way to deal with the virus by making native masks from the leaves of Sal tree which they use to avoid infection.

The tribals of Bharritola village in Amabeda area have adopted this method to protect themselves from corona virus by adopting natural measures. With this, the villagers are not even coming out of the houses.

The tribals say that masks are not available in the Amabeda area and since there is no facility available to travel to Kanker city, hence the villagers are trying to stay safe with native masks in tribal areas.

In urban areas, people are engaged in finding new ways to avoid this pandemic and no one is worried about the the people living in Naxal affected areas so the villagers have taken up the task of making the masks for themselves.

These villagers are so cautious about their safety that they don't allow even their own people to come home without getting screened and after that they are sent to hospital for proper checkup and the people outside the village are not even allowed to enter the village.

The villagers themselves have also become alert about their safety and are sharing information about washing their hands and keeping a distance from each other, along with wearing the native mask.
