A decade of Chhattisgarh's deadliest Maoist attack

The Naxalites opened indiscriminate firing and triggered an IED blast.

The attack made by 'red terrorists' is considered as the biggest Naxal attack to date. The martyrs included jawans who belonged from North-East to South.

Around 150 jawans were in Tademetla forest for search operation on 5 April. While returning on 6 April, the Naxals hiding in the hilltops attacked CRPF personnel around 6 am in the morning.

Nearly 1,000 Naxals were part of the attack while the CRPF team had only 150 personnel.

The landmines were planted from Tademetla forest to Chintalnaar CRPF camp and the small bridges in the route were exploded by the Naxals.

Meanwhile, even after continuous firing by Naxals hiding in the hilltop and mountains nearby, the jawans were successful in killing 8 major Naxal leaders.

After the attack, Naxals took the shoes, weapons and wireless sets of the martyrs.

The whole attack was led by infamous Naxal commander Madawai Hidma and his military company of Naxalites.

However, in the battle between CRPF personnel and Naxals, the adivasi community is the one which faces problem in leading a normal life. Though the central and state government every year is coming with new plans and strategy to combat Naxalism, the terror outfit and their acts continue in the region.
