Sukma: Ten Naxals including a woman cadre have been arrested by security forces in Chhattisgarh's two insurgency-hit districts on Wednesday, a police official said. Of them, eight were arrested from Sukma district and two from Dantewada district.
Acting on specific inputs, a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and district police apprehended the cadres from Mukram and Kottaguda forests.
On seeing the patrolling team, the rebels tried to escape from the spot, but they were caught after a short chase, the official said.
The ultras arrested in Sukma were facing criminal cases like murder, attempt to murder, attack on police teams and arson, in different police stations, the official said.
Those arrested were identified as Madavi Mangu, Madkam Hidma, Madkam Ganga, Madkam Sona, Kawasi Joga, Kawasi Hunga, Soyam Sona and Nuppo Lachcha.
They all were active as members of the janmilitia groups and Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisaan Majdoor Sangthan (DAKMS)- a frontal wing of Maoists. They were booked under the Chhattisgarh Special Public Security Act, 2005
12 electric detonators, 13 gelatin rods, 10-meter Kodaks wire, 35 pencil cells, 2 bundled electric wires and 2 switch wires have been recovered from the Naxalites.
