Supaul: A love story uniting two couples from Bihar and Kashmir took a tragic turn when the father of the girls came to know about it.
Parvez and Tavrej Alam, the two brothers found their wedding bliss cut short after they were arrested on charges of kidnapping two Kashmiri sisters, whom they claim to have married just days back. The father of the girls had filed an FIR accusing the two brothers of kidnapping his daughters.
After the abrogation of provisions of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the brothers hailing from Bihar's Ramvishnupur village of Supaul married their Kashmiri girlfriends. They were working as carpenters in Ramban when they fell in love with the sisters, the police said on Thursday. Soon after they got married, they came back to Supaul and started living there.
The brothers brought back their wives to their home in Supaul district of Bihar. But by then the father of the brides had filed an FIR accusing the two brothers of kidnapping his daughters. However, both the girls told the police that they had married their boyfriends and wanted to stay with them in Bihar.
Supaul Deputy Superintendent of Police Vidyasagar said," A team of Jammu and Kashmir police reached here and arrested them. The accused are saying that the women willingly married them."
