Suspected meteorite chunk lands in Bihar's Madhubani district

On the instruction of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a celestial object which crashed in Mahadeva village was brought to a museum on Wednesday. Experts would study and ascertain its exact nature in the coming days.

Patna: A celestial object, weighing over 10 kilograms and having magnetic properties, was on Wednesday brought to a museum on the instruction of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, two days after it was discovered in Bihar's Madhubani district.

Weighing 13 kgs, the suspected meteorite crashed with a loud thud in Mahadeva village under Laukahi police station area on Monday, following which a group of farmers working in a field extracted it from a five-feet-deep hole in the ground caused by the fall, a release from the Chief Minister's Office said.

The object was kept at the district treasury and the district magistrate shot off a missive to the state Department for Science and Technology, informing about the same.

Subsequently, on Wednesday it was brought to 1 Anney Marg, the chief minister's official residence, it said.

Kumar has ordered that the object be kept at the modern Bihar museum, according to the release.

It added that the object was likely to be shifted to the Shri Krishna Science Centre in the city where experts would study and ascertain its exact nature.

जिला बाढ़ से पहले से ही त्रस्त है उसके उपरांत आज अजीबोगरीब दृश्य देखने को मिला । जिले के लौकही थाना अंतर्गत कौरयाही गांव के भगवानपुर चौड़ी में धान रोपनी खेत में एक 15 किलग्राम के आसमान से पत्थर गिरा गिरा।पत्थर गिरने का आबाज लगभग 5-किमी तक सुनाय दिया। पत्थर गिरने से 5 फिट गढ़ा कर दिया।चौड़ी से आया और वजन किया तो पत्थर 15 किलो के करीब है।कानो कान यह खबर आग की तरह फैल गई।सूचना मिलते ही लौकही थानाध्यक्ष, लौकही co एबं प्रखंड प्रमुख राम कुमार यादव स्थल पर पहुचे । लौकही पुलिस ने पत्थर को अपने कब्जा में कर थाना पर आया है। एसपी और डीएम के पास देखने के लिए भेज दिया है।इलाके के लोगो मे यह चर्चा का विषय बना हुआ है।इस तरह की घटना पहली बार देखने को मिली है।
वही लोगो के समझ से परे है पत्थर को जमीन पर रगड़ने या टकराने से लोहे जैसी आबाज निकलती है ।देखने में पत्थर जैसा प्रतीत होता है लेकिन जमीन से टकराने या रगड़ने पर लोहा जैसे टन टन आवाज़ आता
है। इसमें लोहे का रिंग जैसा भी लगा हुआ ह चुम्बक उस पत्थर में सटता है।छेनी से टकराने से टन तन की आवाज आती है।आसपास के लोगो मे उस बक्त काफी भय बना रहा कि कहीं और पत्थर न आसमान से गिर जायहै।लोगउसी समय से काफी डरे सहमे हुए हैं। लोगो ने उस पत्थर को अचंभित है।
