Bihar's new lawmakers from NDA set to meet

The NDA lawmakers' meeting is expected to name Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister of Bihar following its win in the state elections.

Patna: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is scheduled to hold a meeting at 10 a.m today with the newly elected MLAs where they will be picking leaders for the Bihar government. Reportedly, Union Minister Rajnath Singh will be arriving for the same in Patna shortly.

Besides Rajnath, Bihar election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis and Bhupendra Yadav will also be present in the meeting.

Singh, who is coming to Bihar as a central observer from the party will formally announce the leader of the BJP Legislature Party.

Before the commencement of the NDA meeting, the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Legislature Party will meet.

According to the information, in addition to the newly elected 74 MLAs, the Legislative Councilors will also attend the BJP Legislature Party meeting.
To be held at the BJP headquarters, it is believed that the election of the leader of the BJP Legislature Party will be decided in the meeting.

BJP has won 74 MLAs in the Bihar Assembly elections. The BJP Legislature Party will have a meeting in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee auditorium located at the state office on Sunday and that the BJP Legislature Party leader will become the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar.

After the BJP legislature party meeting, the NDA legislature party will meet at 12.30 pm where the name of Nitish Kumar will be formally announced for the CM post.

On Friday, CM Nitish Kumar resigned and recommended dissolution of the assembly.
