JD(U) leaders speaking against CAA, NRC should join Mahagathbandhan: RLSP

Rashtriya Lok Samta Party says JD(U) leaders like Prashant Kishor and others, who are not being heard by the party leadership on the issue of CAA and NRC, must resign and join Mahagathbandhan to strengthen forces working against the union government's plans concerning the same.

New Delhi: Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) on Saturday said that JD(U) leader Prashant Kishor, who has been raising voice against Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), should leave his party and join 'Mahagathbandhan' (Grand Alliance) to strengthen forces that are working against the central government's plans to implement the newly amended citizenship act and the NRC.

Speaking with the ETV Bharat here, national general secretary and chief spokesperson of the RLSP, Madhaw Anand said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would not expel anyone from the JD(U) even if the party leaders speak against the party lines.

"He works like a slow poison for party people speaking against him. He would nor expel them neither ask them to leave but would make them irrelevant to the party. Hence, it's better for people in the JD(U), who are not being heard, to leave it and join the 'Mahagathbandhan'.

"Prashant Kishor must leave the party and join us to help people get rid of Nitish Kumar," he said.

Of late, several leaders of the JD(U), which is running an alliance government in Bihar with the BJP, have denounced union government's decision to implement the CAA and the NRC.

Former MP Pawan Verma wrote a letter to Nitish Kumar against the party’s decision on CAA. Similarly, another senior leader Pawan Verma said that Nitish Kumar should clarify his stand on the burning issue like CAA and NRC.

Verma was also not happy for JD(U)’s alliance with BJP in Delhi. He did not want JD(U) to contest Delhi assembly elections with the BJP.
