Grand alliance to take final call today over seat sharing in Bihar

Bihar Congress' MLA Avadesh Kumar Singh said that the seat sharing agreement in Bihar could be finalised in the scheduled meet of Mahagathbandhan allies.

New Delhi/Patna: The Election Commission has announced the dates for Lok Sabha elections, however the seat sharing agreement has not been finalised by the 'Mahagathbandhan' (grand-alliance) in Bihar.

To take a final call in the matter, a meeting of the alliance partners was held in New Delhi on Wednesday. However, updates of the meet have not been revealed yet.

While talking to ETV Bharat, Bihar Congress' MLA Avadesh Kumar Singh confirmed that the seat sharing agreement could be finalised in the scheduled meet. He added that a decision on who would contest from where could also be taken in the meet as nominations would begin anytime soon.

Besides, Singh expressed his desire to contest from Aurangabad. He added that the party and its allies were united and had only one aim- to defeat the BJP.

Parties in Bihar Mahagatbandhan

Bihar has a total of 40 Lok Sabha seats. The parties in the state's grand allinace are Rashtriya Janata dal (RJD), Congress, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP), Hindustan Aavam Morcha (HAM), Vikassheel Insan party (VIP), Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) and Vam Dal.
