Bihar: Four minors drown in floodwaters

Four minors died in flood-related incidents in Bihar on Friday. Police informed that the bodies have been sent for postmortem. Various districts across Bihar have got submerged due to the ongoing monsoon rains resulting in flood, which has forced many families to look for another shelter.

Patna: In two separate incidents, four minors drowned in flood-related incidents in Sitamarhi district of Bihar on Friday.

Police said the bodies have been sent for postmortem and their families have been informed.

In the first incident, two brothers, 17-year-old Hussain Ansari and 11-year-old Imran accidentally drowned in floodwaters when they went to take bath.

In another case, twin sisters hailing from Bhima makleshwar village of Bihar drowned in floodwater when they had gone out taking their livestock animals for grazing.

According to reports, the Bagmati and Lakshmana rivers are flowing above the danger mark due to the continuous rains in Sitamarhi district for the past seven days.

Various districts across Bihar have got submerged due to the ongoing monsoon rains resulting in flood, which has forced many families to look for another shelter.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in late June had called a high-level meeting with officials of the water resources department to discuss flood preventive measures.
