Patna: Three construction workers were reportedly injured in a firing incident inside the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campus in Patna, Bihar on Wednesday.
Reportedly, the shots were fired in the middle of a tussle between two contractors at the construction site.
According to one of the injured workers, "A contractor was drinking beer inside the IIT Campus and was asking the labourers to clean up. When we refused, he started arguing with us and when we protested, he started firing."
The shooters have reportedly fled the crime scene.
An IIT security guard admitted the injured to a private hospital where all three were referred to Patna in critical condition.
On recieving information, Patna City SP West Abhinav Kumar reached IIT.
He said that the building construction company 'Nagarjuna' hired two contractors who were given the work of construction.
On the matter of drinking alcohol, the City SP said that an investigation has been initiated.
