Purnia: An accused attacked two police constables with knife after they went to nab him in an old case in Bhatgawa village under Mufassil police station limits on Wednesday. The incident turned serious when the constables were attacked by the criminal in which one suffered a laceration on the neck and other on stomach.
However, the injured cops showed their bravery and succeeded in nabbing the culprit. The severely injured cop is undergoing treatment.
Families of police personnel have alleged that incident displayed gross negligence on the part of the police patrol team. Rather than admitting the wounded cop to the hospital, the team first took the criminal to the police station.
On being asked about the incident, station officer Madan Kumar refused to speak, and instead provided information about the injured policeman.
Kumar told that the injured soldier is undergoing treatment at Sadar Hospital and both cops are out of danger.
