Patna: A special team of the Union Health Ministry reached Bihar's Patna on Sunday to take stock of the growing coronavirus infection and the ongoing situation in the state.
Apart from this, the central team also visited the containment zones in the city. The officials held a meeting with the state health officials and inquired about the situation arising due to the infection spread. The officials discussed the future course of action for the current situation in the state, sources said.
The meeting was held in the presence of Principal Secretary of Health Department Uday Singh Kumawat, Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar, Executive Director of State Health Society and Director of PRD Department.
"The team will go to other hospitals along with the dedicated hospital for COVID-19 in Gaya and will get information about the measures taken for corona testing and treatment. After collecting all the information, the team will leave for Delhi on Monday," an official said.
- Recovery rate drops to the near national average
There are circumstances of widespread Coronavirus infection in Bihar. The number of patients has crossed 26 thousand. In the state, the death toll due to corona has increased to 179. In this way, the number of active cases in the state is now 9,603. The recovery rate has come down in the state. It has fallen to the national average. The state's recovery rate has reached 63 per cent, while the national average is 62 per cent.
- IAS, IPS officers step into the battlefield
The IAS and IPS officers have been put on the field to prevent the rising coronavirus infections in Bihar. At least four trainee IAS officers of 2019 batch have been posted in Patna and Bhagalpur Collectorate. At the same time, 5 IPS officers have been deployed to keep the system of COVID designated hospitals in the state under check, including Patna.

The BJP-JDU is trying to conduct elections on time. But the opposition wants the elections to be postponed. Meanwhile, by 31st July, the Election Commission has asked all national and regional parties for ideas and suggestions about safe election campaign and process.
On the other hand, the central team of the Health Department is on a tour of Bihar. After reviewing the status of infection in the state, the team will return to Delhi on Monday. It is believed that on the basis of the stance of political parties and the report of the central team, the modalities of elections can be decided in Bihar.
