Saran: A series of cylinder blasts followed by a short circuit claimed lives of two kids and gutted six houses in Baligaon village under Parsa police station limits of Bihar's Saran district on Friday. The incident took place when the siblings were sleeping in their house. The blast also claimed a heavy loss of livestock and property in the area.
According to the locals, father of the deceased Rambhu Saah went to attend a pre-wedding function in the nearby village along with his wife. He left his kids, Kundan (8) and Sohani (5), back home as they were sleeping.
A massive fire broke out due to a short circuit in the house. Villagers struggled hard to douse the flames but failed. Meanwhile, three LPG cylinders kept in the house also caught fire which resulted in a series of blasts.
After getting the information, fire tenders rushed to the spot to control the blaze. By the time fire got extinguished, at least six houses were turned into ashes.
After the incident, a team of police personnel, BDO and CO reached the spot to take stock of the situation. They met the fire victims and assured them government assistance.
The bodies were later sent for post-mortem examination.
