Patna: Bihar Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday arrested a BSF jawan and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Arwal district. A car, two 315 bore regular rifles, a pistol and 500 live cartridges have also been seized from his possession.
Acting on a tip-off, the STF team along with the district police chased Jai Pukar Rai from Ranchi and arrested him near Bhagat Singh Chowk in Arwal district headquarters.
According to SP Rajeev Ranjan, Jai Pukar Rai and his family members are being interrogated. "We are probing the purpose behind Jai Pukar Rai carrying the arms and ammunition. We are also investigating to whom he was trying to deliver the consignment. We are also questioning Rai's fellow BSF officials," Rajan said.
