Patna: The fighters of the ensuing Bihar polls are leaving nothing unturned to win the battle of ballots. They are using every arm and ammunition in their kitty to seal the victory. They are trying their level best to gauge the people’s mood as well.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is the principal commander of the NDA in Bihar polls, on October 23, addressed his first rally in which he gave a new direction to the whole narrative which is being built up in Bihar.
At the very outset of his speech, Prime Minister Modi referred to former Union Ministers late Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Ram Vilas Paswan by killing many birds with one stone. It was enough for the political experts to understand how Prime Minister Modi turns every adverse situation in his favour.
TRIBUTE TO RAGHUVANSH PRASAD SINGH
Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his speech with reverence to the senior socialist leader and former Union Minister late Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, father of Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in India.
Prime Minister Modi only took the name of Raghuvansh Babu, which has created a piquant situation for the RJD in the state. Singh was RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav’s most trusted aide and had to resign over some differences.
Sadly, he died a few weeks after he quit the RJD during his treatment at AIIMS in New Delhi. Prime Minister Modi made a tactical attempt to convince the people of Bihar that if they trust RJD, they will be in trouble as the RJD does not trust them. It is also certain that the caste equation of the rally site adjacent to eastern Uttar Pradesh was central to the decision as the area is dominated by Rajput, Bhumihar and the people of Mahadalit castes.
PM Modi, by taking the name of Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, has factored the issue of trust in Bihar politics once again.
It is now known to all that there are more than 45,000 Rajput voters in Raghopur, the seat from which Tejashwi Yadav is contesting the Assembly poll.
Rama Singh has influence in the area even though there are dozens of criminal cases against him. Tejashwi bats for him for his selfish politics. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh stood with the RJD all his life but never did the politics of selfishness.
In the first rally of Rohtas, Prime Minister Modi gave the certificate to NDA and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for doing the politics of trust and development, which is surely going to give a new direction to the state’s electoral battle.
The RJD is already on the back foot for taking notes in lieu of tickets. The JDU was finding it difficult to answer the questions related to employment. But the politics of trust which the PM has made an issue in Bihar politics is certainly a new challenge for the RJD.
DEVELOPMENT AND RAM VILAS PASWAN
In his rally, Prime Minister Modi also paid his respect to Ram Vilas Paswan, an important pillar to the development of Bihar. At present, Chirag Paswan, the successor of Ram Vilas Paswan, is singing in a different tune, which is in discordant with the line of NDA in Bihar.
Prime Minister Modi counted how Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is working hard for the development of Bihar and Ram Vilas Paswan has also contributed to this process of development. There is a big power in the language of politics.
Modi said that Nitish Kumar is developing Bihar and Ram Vilas Paswan has also been instrumental in this development. Political experts do not see much hope for Chirag after these words of Prime Minister Modi.
It is certain that the NDA is trying to get the chair on the plank of development. Chirag Paswan’s development politics has lost to the experience of Prime Minister Narendra who has reposed his faith in the development model of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Kumar’s development model is his first choice.
Modi also put a stop to the talks of the BJP leaders who used to discuss the lantern with some softness. The matter is clear that now Narendra Modi and his BJP will count only on Nitish Kumar’s development.
On the issue of employment, the way the RJD had been ranting from every platform for the last four days has got a befitting reply from Prime Minister Modi, who has given a new dimension to development discourse in Bihar.
If PM Modi wanted Chirag to go to the polls on the plank of development, then he should not have separated from the NDA and the trust with which Raghuvansh Babu spent his entire life should not have left the RJD.
In politics, if Tejashwi Yadav finds a place, an alliance will be needed, but the trust deficit will always be there. PM Modi has given a new colour to the development-based politics. The politics of trust is also floating on Bihar’s political landscape.
The final result will be known only on November 10, but PM Modi has certainly given a new twist to the poll campaign in Bihar.
