Nagaon (Assam): In a disturbing video that has gone viral, a 15-year-old girl can be seen being brutally thrashed by her father in Nagaon district of Assam. The young girl is dragged around, kicked and hit by her father as onlookers watch.
The father, reportedly, attacked his daughter after she refused to marry an elderly man who was chosen by him.
A middle-aged woman can also be seen in the video intervening and beating up the man with a bamboo pole to save the girl.
The girl was taken to the Bhogeswari Phukanani Civil Hospital in Nagaon, and after receiving treatment she was brought back home.

Meanwhile, the father has been arrested by the local police and continues to remain in police custody.
