12-year-old missing girl's body found in septic tank in Assam

The police said, "The victim girl with her mother went to the accused Anan's house on Monday night after watching a cultural programme on the occasion of the Bihu festival. The victim's family was acquainted with the accused Tati's family in the past. The victim's mother said she went to their home when she saw her girl fall asleep in the accused house. But since then the girl was missing."

Tinsukia (Assam): The police on Wednesday claimed to have recovered the body of the 12-year-old girl, who had gone missing on Monday night in Assam's Tinsukia. The police have recovered the body from a septic tank in Jayanagar of Margherita of the district. According to the locals, the girl was allegedly raped and murdered.

Later, the police shifted the boy to the Tinsukia Civil Hospital for post-mortem. According to the police, the accused has been identified as Anan Tati. The police then started an investigation. Tati's wife on questioning by the police said that her husband has committed the crime.

A large police force has been deployed at the crime spot.
