Interview with the National Best Teacher Awardee Madhu Babu

President Ram Nath Kovind conferred this year's National Teachers' Awards to 47 teachers from across the country on the occasion of Teacher's day. ETV Bharat talks to one of the awardees, Asapanna Madhu Babu, an English teacher from Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam.

Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh): As many as 47 teachers from across the country were conferred the National Teachers' Awards by President Ram Nath Kovind on 5th September.

The national-level awards are given on Teachers' Day to celebrate the unique contribution of some of the finest teachers in the country and to honour those teachers who through their commitment have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students.

"Good buildings, expensive equipments or facilities do not make a good school but teachers have a crucial role in building a good school. They are the ones who develop foundation of knowledge and character building in our students," Kovind said at the virtual award ceremony.

Among those awardees, was Asapanna Madhu Babu, who works as School Assistant in English at ZPHS kasibugga in Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh.

Madhu Babu teaches English at the school and all the students wait eagerly for his class. The reason is that he teaches English in a child-friendly manner using innovative techniques. He also started a digital lab. He is enhancing communication skills and helping children to improve their all-round aspect development.
