Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): Dharmana Krishna Das on Saturday took charge as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
In a minor reshuffle recently, Dharmana Krishna Das, who was the Roads and Buildings Minister, was elevated to the rank of Deputy Chief Minister.
Krishna Das is the current legislator from Narasannapeta constituency and is now one of the five deputy chief ministers in the state.
He has now been reportedly allotted the Revenue, Registrations, and Stamps Portfolio. The Chief Minister was managing this portfolio during the transition after Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose resigned from the post on his election to the Rajya Sabha.
In the reshuffle, M Sankara Narayana, who had been holding the BC Welfare portfolio, was allotted the Roads and Buildings Department, which was being held by Krishna Das before his elevation as Deputy Chief Minister.

Earlier on July 22, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had expanded his cabinet by inducting two Ministers.
C. Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna and Seediri Appalaraju took oath as ministers to fill up the two vacancies that arose with the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Pilli Subhas Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkataramana following their election to the Rajya Sabha.
