Hyderabad: A seven-year-old girl who went missing since last three days was found in a sack near the Upputeru canal on Monday.
Her body was recovered by the police on Monday near Indrapalem locks drains.
Deepti Sree, daughter of Shyam Prasad went missing on Friday.
Police had deployed search teams to look for the body in Upputeru, Indrapalem locks and Kakinada town.
Police started the investigation after they found CCTV footage in which the kid walked out of the school with a woman on Friday during lunch time.
On suspicion, police questioned the step-mother of the kid.
Santhi Kumari, the step-mother of Deepti Sree confessed her crime during interrogation.
Santhi kidnapped her when she was playing during the lunch hour in the school premises.
Shyam Prasad, a resident of Sanjay Nagar in Kakinada, had married Shanti Kumari after his first wife died. The couple had a boy who is one-year-old now.
Deepti was living with her relatives after her mother died three year back due to health issues.
Deepti was a second standard student in Jagannadhapuram.
